The Novares Sporting Association, Cuelebre, Calzada Tejanort, P.D.M. Siero and Siero Skating Clubs are holding the 1^stPrincipality Of Asturias Criterium  of a popular nature, with the technical supervision of the Principality of Asturias Skating Federation, the patronage of the Arts Council, Social Communications and the Asturian Tourist Board, Oviedo ,Gijon and Siero City Councils.

    The  Organizers’ aim is that this event should  be a Skaters Meeting during the summer and that the participants and their families and companions can spend  some pleasurable days in Asturias. The spirit of this event is  to  complement the competition with many more activities so that the time spent in our cities will be attractive, not only for the skater, but for the  accompanying friends and families aswell.

  Events to promote the practice and display  of our sport do not abound neither within or  outside our frontiers. Within the four clubs who have joined up this year,2011,we not only want to promote speed skating for adults, as is usually the case, but also for the younger competitors and the

up and coming generation of skaters in schools. We believe  that the best way of doing this is by holding a big  Skating Festival, with varied and attractive events, thereby coming into being the 1^st SPEED SKATING POPULAR CRITERIUM of the PRINCIPALITY OF ASTURIAS with a view to .

carry on growing and to attract more and more skaters from all over Spain and other countries aswell. We hope  that what we are organizing will be to everybodies liking and  from this firstyear,2011, that this project takes off, that it will be a success.
